Six breaths a minute is slower than it sounds. Most people breathe somewhere around 12 to 20 times a minute without thinking about it. Cutting that in half, on purpose, for a few focused minutes, is what moves the needle. Not "deep breaths when you are stressed." A specific, trainable cadence.
HRV gets treated like a mysterious wellness number on a wearable. It is not mysterious. It is a measure of how well your nervous system recovers, and it responds to input the same way a muscle does. Slow, paced breathing is one of the few inputs with real evidence behind it.
